Anyone covered by the Ethics Code can seek advice regarding ethical issues. It is important to seek this advice prospectively and not after the fact. There are two kinds of opinions that can be requested, Informal Opinions, known as INQ’s and Formal Advisory Opinions known as RQO’s.

  • Informal opinions: An informal consultation with the Executive Director regarding application of the Ethics Code to a particular situation.
  • Formal Advisory Opinions: A Formal Advisory Opinion from the Ethics Commission requested by submitting all relevant facts and requesting a binding opinion regarding a matter that is subject to the Ethics Code.
